Weekly Space Hangout: May 27, 2020 – Shytoya Palmer and her Rocket Propulsion Equation

NOTE: Due to an unexpected power failure, tonight’s guest, Shytoya Palmer, was unable to join us. We will be rescheduling her appearance as part of our next season. We apologize for the inconvenience.

This week we are excited to welcome Shytoya Palmer to the Weekly Space Hangout. Shytoya is a 5th-year (Senior) Aerospace Engineering student at Auburn University. Shytoya came to our attention when she announced via her Twitter feed that she is not only one of the first Black women to publish her own Rocket Propulsion equation, but she is doing so as an undergrad student and also has the honor of naming her equation. [CONGRATULATIONS on this major accomplishment!]

Shytoya has a planned graduation date of May, 2021, and is planning to work for NASA/SpaceX upon graduation.

Be sure to follow Shytoya on Twitter – her handle is @astrotoya!
